October’s Carrick Business Spotlight Goes To Boron Funeral Home Inc.

In the early 1920s, 1719 Brownsville Road was built. It is a beautiful building that holds the current Boron Funeral Home Inc and 7 apartments above it. In 1968, Parents Thaddeus T. and Lucy P. Boron bought the "Koontz Funeral Home" after Mr. Boron had managed it since 1954.

"CARRICK IS OUR ROOTS." ~THE BORONS

Sons Ted Jr. and Ed were born and raised in the heart of Carrick in their family ran funeral home. Ted and Ed have been licensed embalmers and funeral directors for almost 50 years. Ted graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with honors. Both Ted and Ed Boron graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. John Lester was the president of the Alleghany County Funeral Directors Association. He has served alongside the Boron’s for the last 18 years!

Ted and Ed Boron entered the funeral profession because of their desire to help families during difficult times. When growing up, they used to help their parents with the business. It's no wonder the reviews are top tier, "Compassionate, caring, and above all supportive of families and the wishes of their loved ones." Carrick is very grateful that Boron Funeral Home Inc. is a part of this neighborhood and a part of Carrick history. We can't thank you enough for the amazing services you have provided to this community through the years.
